Everything You Need To Know About Fixing Swimmer’s Hair!
The local pools are open. After taking the plunge, your hair isn’t happy. It feels dry and brittle, gummy, crunchy, and clumpy. It tangles easily, and if you’re blonde, it has a bit of a green cast. If you’re a brunette, your dark locks are even darker. Remove the elements responsible and restore hair to its awesome glory.
Repairing chlorine damaged hair requires a special approach.
First, to improve the look, feel and health of your hair of chlorine damaged hair, we recommend an in-salon chlorine removal treatment.
This service naturally eliminate elements (chlorine, bromine, copper, calcium, lime or salts) that can make swimmers’ hair look and feel damaged.
Our “In-salon Chlorine Removal Treatment”:
Alternate Action® Clarifying Shampoo cleanses deeply to help lift away styling product buildup without overly stripping natural oils. Purifies and refreshes hair to renew body and shine. Special chelating agent helps remove chlorine and mineral deposits. Suitable for chemically treated hair. pH - Neutral
Deep cleansing surfactant that helps to remove any waxy, oily or gritty buildup. It also contains a chelating agent that helps remove chlorine, minerals and metal deposits on the hair.
For minor buildup removal, we highly recommend the weekly home use of Alternate Action Clarifying Shampoo by Matrix.

We recommend before entering chlorinated water that you first prepare your hair by wetting it (a simple spray bottle works best), and then applying a small amount of your favorite conditioner. This stops your hair from absorbing chlorinated water as it is already wet and the conditioner protects from further mineral absorption.
While chlorinated water will always have somewhat of an adverse effect on your hair, there is no reason to suffer from extreme chlorine damaged hair. Simple preventative measures and the correct hair care products and techniques make chlorine damaged hair a manageable situation! Enjoy the Summer!
