A colorful spring fashion forecast from your favorite hair salon in Cleveland

The master stylists at Illusion Unlimited Hair Salon in Strongsville, Broadview Heights and Parma have you covered when it comes to the latest looks in hair. To see what you might want to add to your closet as we leave winter behind, we turned to some fashion experts.

Over at Elle magazine, they’re predicting that lavender will be the color to shop for, rubber will be rocking the catwalks and the bag they say “you denied your whole life” is taking on new life.

“Victoria Beckham and Michael Kors Collection are hinting that Millennial Pink will be replaced by pastel-adjacent lavender come springtime,” they say in their Spring 2018 Fashion

roundup. “This soft purple hue is the next it-color, making a turn in knits, suiting, and whimsical formal wear.”

By the way – if you have an event coming up that may require “whimsical formal wear” (in lavender or any other color!) don’t forget that you can rely on Illusion Unlimited – which is considered one of the best salons in Cleveland – for a range of style services, including:

  • Cleanse, Condition & Finish
  • Formal/Special Occasion Styles
  • Bridal Packages

Of course, lavender isn’t the only color to catch the attention of the experts at Elle. “If fall suiting belonged to gray plaid, then spring is all about a clean slate,” they report. “The white suit isn’t just for prim and proper presidential events either, but was cut as an oversized tux at Adam Lippes, styled with a bra at Tom Ford, and went Saturday Night Fever with Acne Studios.”

White tank tops are also on the radar at Elle. “Given Hanes’ collab with both Re/Done Jeans and stylist Karla Welch, the basic white tee is key. Spring, however, belongs to its scrappier sister: the white tank top. Despite its problematic nickname (hint: A Streetcar Named Desire may have inspired this alias), the ribbed top is getting an upgrade with screen printing at CALVIN KLEIN, twists at Alexander Wang, and layered under sheer florals at Miu MIu.”

If you’re thinking that a new hair color for spring might look fabulous with the white fashion forecast, make an appointment with one of the color specialists at our Broadview Heights, Parma or Strongsville salon location. We’ll make sure you get the color that will suit you as well as your wardrobe.

Millennial pink is sticking around this season, but the fashion editors at Elle say, “We’re inclined to wear it with a pop of rouge.” Apparently, that’s what Coach 1941, Brandon Maxwell, Oscar de la Renta and other designers did in their spring shows.

When spring showers come your way, you should be able to see a few rainbows. “There’s a wearable way to wear the rainbow without channeling Pennywise,” according to Elle.com’s Comprehensive Guide to the Biggest Trends of Spring 2018. “Designers like Peter Pilotto opted for a lo-fi spectrum, making the multi-colored trend approachable, mature, and most importantly, chic.”

Not feeling quite that bright and sunny? You could make an appointment at Illusion Unlimited’s Parma, Broadview Heights or Strongsville hair salons; people usually seem to be sporting a smile after a visit to our hair and nail salons in Strongsville, Broadview Heights and Parma. Another option would be wearing one of the dark denim sets that were featured in a lot of spring shows. “We’re not crazy enough to retire our vintage, light-wash Levi’s, but dark denim is seeing a resurgence,” the experts at Elle report. “The selvage textile is doing double duty, with sleek Texas tuxedos showing up at Alexander McQueen, Rosie Assoulin, and more.”

You can never go wrong with a classic black-and-white look, but this season you can have a little fun with it. “Floral might be your go-to spring print, but polka dots will be a close second,” Elle predicts.

Over at Glamour, they even featured a beautiful black-and-white polka dotted bag to illustrate their prediction that graphic bags will also be big this spring. “Eye-catching prints give this spring’s tiny, strappy bags big impact. Checks, stripes, polka dots, you name it—if it’s bold and bright, it’s on trend,” they say in their report on 7 Spring 2018 Trends You’ve Got to Try Now (and How to Actually Wear Them).
